OWA: A Family-Friendly Entertainment Destination

In late 2015 STOA Architects began design of a new family-friendly entertainment destination for the City of Foley and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Fast forward to late 2016, and OWA has officially been born.

OWA is a 520+ acre destination resort in Foley, Alabama. Currently under construction and slated to open Summer 2017, Phase One of OWA features a Marriott TownePlace Suites, a themed amusement park with 21 rides, and a variety of shopping and dining experiences surrounding a picturesque lake. The lake is what inspired the name OWA, which means “big water” in the Creek Indian language. The STOA team has provided master planning and architectural design for the 154,000 sf of Retail, Dining and Entertainment space, 14 acre lake, 1.5 acre island, and 14 acre amusement park.

For more information on this project such as opening dates, available attractions, etc., please visit OWA's website by clicking on "OWA."
