Westinghouse Corporation
Warehouse and Assembly Building
Pensacola, Florida

STOA Architects provided architectural services for the design of this 63,000 square-foot warehouse to serve as a central receiving and distribution store for Westinghouse’s Pensacola Manufacturing Facility. The phased project was completed during 2 budget years under three separate prime contracts. The mixed-use facility designed to accomodate a 25 ton crane, combines storage areas, loading dock facilities, drive-through truck loading, parts assembly areas and a 300+ occupancy meeting hall. The center aisle clerestory design allows for natural light and forced ventilation throughout the warehouse without roof penetration. The existing stormwater system was modified to handle the increased load. Existing plant computer, fire detection and telephone systems were expanded to the new facility. Other building design elements included steel framing, precast panels, insulated fiberglass panels and 3-ply asphalt roofing.
