STOA Architects Gains Local Architecture Firm, Amspacher & Amspacher

Pensacola architecture firm Amspacher & Amspacher Architects has recently merged with STOA Architects, bringing the total STOA staff to 27 and counting. All employees of Amspacher & Amspacher were retained and have moved into STOA’s offices on Government Street in downtown Pensacola.“We’re really excited to have them aboard,” said STOA Human Resources/Business Manager, Ann Hawkins. “The two firms will complement each other well.”
Amspacher & Amspacher has been practicing architecture in Pensacola since 1980, when Bill Amspacher’s father started the company. The firm has served as the architect of record for numerous educational and commercial facilities throughout the Southeastern United States, and has developed long-standing relationships resulting in many repeat clients.
Bill Amspacher will join Mark Gilliland and Nancy Gartland as managing principals of STOA Architects. Other STOA employee additions as a result of the merger include:
- John Monroe, Construction Administrator. John graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. In his position of Construction Administrator, John brings more than 28 years of project management, engineering and construction experience.
- Tonua Harris , CAD Operator. Tonua brings experience drafting for various commercial, residential and educational clients. She graduated with honors from ITT Technical Institute with an Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and is proficient in several drafting and 3D design programs.
- Howard Whiting, CAD Operator. Howard’s nearly 30 years of experience includes drafting for various commercial, residential, government, and educational projects. In addition to working in architecture, Howard spent a good portion of his career as a mechanical draftsperson for Westinghouse Electric’s Nuclear Component Division. He completed the Drafting Technology Program at Pensacola Junior College and has received a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in drafting.
STOA Architects, is a design firm established in 1981, serving local, regional and national clients from our downtown Pensacola, Florida office. We have completed projects for industrial, commercial, governmental, educational, medical, and residential clients. Projects range in size and scope from 500 square foot renovation projects to new facilities encompassing over $60 million in construction value.
