STOA Architects provided project programming, design charrette, architectural design, and value engineering management services for this exciting hybrid building combining dining and fitness functions into one facility. A full service kitchen, restaurant, support spaces, and indoor and outdoor dining spaces are located on the ground floor, and a state-of-the-art Fitness Center is located on the 2nd floor of this 38,000 square-foot facility.
The project was designed with consideration to sustainable development parameters, environmental impact, force protection, future utilities infrastructure and integrated landscape design.
The A/E Design Team utilized design charrettes with the users of the facility and 3D computer rendering and design sketches to develop a design theme and style. The unique structure is created with interesting curved vertical and horizontal planes and incorporates low maintenance materials and other energy-saving elements such as sunshade devices for solar control.
Building features include covered exterior dining, a sculptural water feature and suspended fabric “sails”, a 12-person Internet bar, curving “wave walls”, exposed high bay workout areas, a central control station with a 270-degree view, and extensive interior and exterior glazing.
